Foxconn and IAT Launch Foxtecon Joint Venture to Scale Robot Production

Foxconn Technology Group and Chinese automotive engineering company IAT established Beijing Foxtecon Intelligent Robot Technology Co., Ltd. on September 21 in Beijing E-Town. The joint venture aims to help embodied robotics developers move from prototypes to scalable production.

Foxtecon will operate a turnkey platform spanning research and development, manufacturing, training, sales and investment. The venture combines Foxconn's manufacturing and supply-chain capabilities with IAT's automotive engineering, simulation and validation expertise.

The platform is intended to bridge engineering verification, pilot production and high-volume manufacturing, areas where robot developers face integration and cost challenges. It will also draw on the partners' existing automotive and electronics customer networks.

At its launch, Foxtecon signed cooperation agreements with Yingzhi Technology, Songyan Power, Shanghai Kepler and RoboParty. The agreements establish an initial group of robotics partners, although financial terms and manufacturing volumes were not disclosed.

The venture is expected to support companies seeking repeatable production processes for embodied intelligent robots. Its proposed services cover product engineering, supply-chain integration and factory-scale manufacturing rather than focusing exclusively on robot hardware development.

The company is based in Beijing E-Town, a district developing a robotics and embodied intelligence cluster. According to figures cited at the launch, the district hosts more than 300 robotics companies and innovation units, with an industrial chain valued above 20 billion yuan.

The partnership extends Foxconn's robotics activities beyond its electronics manufacturing operations. IAT contributes automotive-sector development experience and customer relationships that the joint venture plans to apply to robot production and broader industrial deployment.

Foxtecon's establishment follows the partners' earlier work on a turnkey robotics platform. The companies have not announced a production start date, annual robot output target or confirmed customer orders for the new joint venture.
