DEEP Robotics Deploys Patrol Robot Dogs at Haining Leather City

DEEP Robotics has introduced a smart security solution at Haining Leather City, deploying patrol robot dogs that autonomously navigate corridors and report anomalies in real time, while firefighting robot dogs remain on standby to respond rapidly to fire emergencies.
Haining Leather City has a total floor area of approximately 1.3 million square meters, accommodates more than 6,000 businesses, and welcomes over 10 million visitors annually. In the past, the complex relied entirely on manual patrols, with long corridors and numerous blind spots making anomalies difficult to detect amid heavy daytime foot traffic.
The robot dogs are equipped with high-precision LiDAR, wide-angle cameras, and visual recognition systems, enabling them to build real-time maps of their surroundings and achieve centimeter-level positioning. Supported by onboard computing and cloud-based collaboration, they dynamically avoid obstacles and adjust routes in real time when encountering unexpected obstructions such as merchandise displays or crowds.
During peak holiday periods, daily visitor numbers can exceed 60,000, placing immense pressure on the security team. Equipped with panoramic cameras, DEEP Robotics' robot dogs serve as mobile elevated observation points, providing real-time situational awareness throughout the market and eliminating surveillance blind spots.
A manager at Haining Leather City stated:
"DEEP Robotics' robot dogs have taken over some of the patrol duties previously performed by our security personnel. They have reduced the team's workload while helping safeguard the market."
After nightfall, the robot dogs activate searchlights and use dual-spectrum pan-tilt-zoom cameras to conduct routine inspections using visible-light imaging while simultaneously detecting infrared heat sources. The DEEP Robotics team continuously refined recognition algorithms so the robot dogs can now detect smoke and flames from a distance of three to five meters in nighttime environments, up from an initial range of one meter.
Equipped with multi-gas sensors, the robot dogs continuously monitor the surrounding air. Once an anomaly is detected, they immediately pinpoint its location. The robot dogs use 5G communication modules to transmit live video, precise location information, and sensor data to the digital management platform in real time, allowing the backend control center and the market's fire control room to monitor situations simultaneously.
On a full charge, DEEP Robotics' robot dogs can patrol continuously for approximately three hours. After completing their assigned tasks, they autonomously return to their charging stations, requiring no dedicated operator and ensuring all-weather patrols continue without interruption.
From Yiwu International Trade Market and Certis Group's campus in Singapore to Haining Leather City, DEEP Robotics' robot dogs are being deployed in a growing range of patrol environments, including shopping centers, residential communities, and smart industrial parks.
