Matrix Robotics Showcases MATRIX-3 Humanoid Robot at WAIC 2026

Matrix Robotics has showcased its third-generation general-purpose humanoid robot, MATRIX-3, at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) 2026 in Shanghai, highlighting advances in Physical AI, robotic intelligence and commercial deployment capabilities.

The China-based robotics company presented four MATRIX-3 units performing live demonstrations across commercial service, human-robot interaction, manipulation and humanoid motion scenarios. Matrix Robotics also announced upgrades to its WAVE Physical World Foundation Model and launched its MATRIX Global Partner Program to accelerate worldwide adoption.

MATRIX-3 is designed with a human-scale form factor, measuring 1.70 meters tall and weighing 65 kilograms. The humanoid robot features a 27-degree-of-freedom tendon-driven dexterous hand, 3D-knitted biomimetic safety skin, whole-body tactile sensing with fingertip precision as low as 0.1 Newton, and integrated motion control technologies. Supporting 4 hours of continuous operation, it is priced from RMB 580,000 per unit for commercial services, manufacturing support, warehouse assistance and household tasks.

Matrix Robotics demonstrated its WAVE Physical World Foundation Model as the intelligence platform powering MATRIX-3. The model uses a proprietary "brain–cerebellum" collaborative architecture, combining global scene understanding, task planning and a general-purpose motion control model to generate natural full-body movement.

The company highlighted industrialization progress through its Zhangjiang MFH Smart Manufacturing Base in Shanghai, which targets annual production capacity of 5,000 units in 2026 and 10,000 units in 2027. Matrix Robotics has also accumulated approximately 1,000 robot orders across restaurant services, hospitality, research and entertainment sectors.

Through the newly launched MATRIX Global Partner Program, the company plans to collaborate with regional partners across China and overseas markets. Matrix Robotics aims to expand commercial applications of humanoid robots through standardized solutions, local deployment networks and ecosystem partnerships.
