ByAyshathul Mushrifa

Yaskawa America Inc. has achieved independent certification to the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 information security management standard, reinforcing its commitment to protecting customer data and supporting secure industrial automation solutions.

The Miamisburg, Ohio-based company, through its Motoman Robotics Division, has completed a comprehensive third-party audit evaluating its information security management systems across technology, operations, and organizational processes. The certification highlights Yaskawa's focus on cybersecurity as manufacturers increasingly adopt connected automation, robotics, and software-driven production environments.

David Troeter, Vice President of Yaskawa Support Services, stated:

"As manufacturers continue adopting connected automation, software, and intelligent robotics, information security has become an essential part of delivering reliable automation solutions. Achieving ISO 27001 certification reflects our long-term commitment to protecting customer information and reinforcing the trust customers place in Yaskawa Motoman every day."

The ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification provides a structured framework for managing cybersecurity risks, security governance, employee awareness, and continuous improvement. Yaskawa completed the certification process following a three-year cross-functional initiative led by Robert Turner, Support Services Administrator, to strengthen security practices protecting customer, partner, and business information.

Yaskawa America highlighted the importance of secure robotics infrastructure:

The certification supports customers requiring robust supplier security standards and demonstrates compliance with internationally recognized information protection practices. As industrial robots become increasingly connected through AI, software platforms, and smart manufacturing networks, cybersecurity has become a critical component of reliable automation.

Yaskawa America will continue investing in secure technologies, processes, and workforce capabilities to support global customers across industries including welding, assembly, coating, material handling, packaging, laboratory automation, and other industrial applications.
