Yamaha Motor Opens Robotics Sales & Service Facility in Gurugram to Strengthen India Automation Business

ByAyshathul Mushrifa

Yamaha Motor is expanding its robotics presence in India with a new Robotics Business Support Division in Gurugram, aiming to capitalize on the country’s rapidly growing manufacturing and industrial automation sectors.

The new facility is designed to strengthen sales, technical support, and customer engagement as demand for automation solutions continues to increase across industries such as electronics, automotive manufacturing, industrial equipment, and semiconductors.

India’s manufacturing sector has experienced steady growth and increasing technological sophistication in recent years. As companies focus on improving production efficiency, quality, and scalability, the demand for advanced robotics and automation systems is expected to rise significantly.

According to Yamaha Motor, India represents a high-potential market for robotics solutions. The company believes there is substantial opportunity to increase brand awareness and expand its robotics business footprint throughout the country.

During the initial phase of operations, the Robotics Business Support Division will focus on supporting Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Assembly Systems and industrial robots. SMT technology is widely used in electronics manufacturing to automate the placement of components on printed circuit boards.

The strategy positions Yamaha to serve customers in electronics production and industrial automation, where high-speed, high-precision manufacturing processes are critical. The company also plans to establish the infrastructure required to support semiconductor back-end processing equipment in the future.

A key feature of the Gurugram facility is a dedicated robotics showroom showcasing Yamaha’s latest automation technologies. The demonstration center will allow customers to evaluate robotics systems and observe their applications in real-world manufacturing scenarios.

The showroom is expected to serve as both a customer engagement center and a solution-development space where manufacturers can explore ways to improve productivity, optimize workflows, and address production challenges through automation.

The expansion comes as India continues to promote domestic electronics manufacturing, industrial modernization, and semiconductor ecosystem development. These initiatives are creating new opportunities for global automation providers seeking to support next-generation manufacturing facilities.

For Yamaha Motor, the investment also broadens its presence beyond its well-known motorcycle and scooter business in India. The new robotics facility highlights the company’s growing focus on industrial technology and advanced manufacturing solutions as part of its long-term growth strategy.
