Yamaha Motor Launches New YE4 and YE10 SCARA Robots and RCX440 Controller

Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. has launched two new SCARA robots, the YE4 and YE10, alongside the compatible RCX440 controller, expanding its cost-focused industrial automation lineup across Asian markets.
Designed for markets across China, ASEAN countries, India, and Japan, these horizontal articulated robots build on the proven high productivity of Yamaha's YK-XE Series while offering enhanced performance during sustained operations and reduced manufacturing costs.
The YE4 supports a maximum payload capacity of 4 kg with a standard cycle time of 0.40 seconds, while the YE10 supports up to 10 kg with cycle times ranging between 0.36 and 0.42 seconds.
Performance during long-term continuous operation has been improved by optimizing motor heat dissipation, delivering high repeatability essential for precision electronic assembly, packaging, sorting, and sealing applications.
The accompanying RCX440 controller inherits the operating interface of the current RCX340 multi-axis controller, ensuring a smooth operational transition without requiring new software or teach pendants.
Yamaha replaced the resolver sensor with an encoder, enhancing sensor resolution while lowering electronic circuit and enclosure costs, alongside installing the home-position battery directly on the robot to eliminate recalibration during setup.
The launch addresses growing automation demand driven by labor shortages and electric vehicle production, specifically targeting automotive electronics, lithium-ion battery assembly, semiconductor placement, and cleanroom processes in pharmaceuticals and food manufacturing.
