# Stryker and Siemens Healthineers Partner on Neurovascular Robotics
September 17, 2025 (Global) – Stryker and Siemens Healthineers have announced a strategic partnership to co-develop a robotic system aimed at enhancing the precision and efficiency of neurovascular procedures. This collaboration seeks to address the complexities of treating conditions such as strokes and aneurysms, particularly in emergency settings.
“Neurovascular diseases—primarily strokes and aneurysms—carry a massive global burden. Stroke is the second-leading cause of death and the third-leading cause of disability in adults globally,” said Carsten Bertram, head of Advanced Therapies at Siemens Healthineers. “Together, we are uniquely positioned to create an ecosystem of image-guidance, robotics, and devices.”
The partnership combines Siemens Healthineers' expertise in robotics and image-guided therapy with Stryker's experience in neurovascular technologies. The goal is to develop a comprehensive robotic system that integrates imaging, navigation, and therapeutic devices, streamlining workflows and improving patient outcomes.
Key Highlights of the Partnership
- Integrated Robotic System: Development of a unified platform for neurovascular procedures, including stroke and aneurysm treatments.
- Enhanced Precision: Utilization of advanced imaging and robotic navigation to improve procedural accuracy.
- Streamlined Workflows: Integration of imaging, devices, and robotics to reduce complexity and enhance efficiency.
- Clinical Collaboration: Initial phase focuses on co-developing the system and validating its clinical value in collaboration with leading physicians.
Industry experts view this partnership as a significant step toward transforming neurovascular care, combining technological innovation with clinical expertise to improve patient outcomes.
“Together, we are taking an important step toward transforming how neurovascular procedures are performed—and ultimately, working to improve outcomes for patients worldwide,” said Jim Marucci, president of Stryker’s Neurovascular division.
