Skild AI Acquires Zebra Technologies’ Robotics Automation Business to Expand Warehouse Intelligence

ByMohammed Thaif

Skild AI in a move aimed at accelerating the deployment of intelligent robotics automation solutions across supply chain operations and industrial environments.

The acquisition strengthens Skild AI’s position in the physical AI sector by combining its general-purpose Skild Brain with Zebra’s robotics orchestration and workflow automation capabilities.

As part of the transaction, Zebra Technologies received cash consideration along with an equity stake in Skild AI. Zebra said the deal allows the company to sharpen its strategic focus on high-growth areas including RFID, machine vision, and frontline AI solutions.

Skild AI plans to build on Zebra’s Symmetry Fulfillment platform, which coordinates workflows between robots and frontline workers using Zebra wearable technologies. The company aims to expand automation capabilities alongside deployment of its Skild Brain platform.

The acquisition supports Skild AI’s broader strategy of advancing generalized robot intelligence across multiple robotic embodiments. Unlike traditional robotics AI systems designed for specific hardware, the Skild Brain can operate different robot types without requiring prior knowledge of their exact body structure.

Skild AI has emerged as a fast-growing player in the physical AI market, focusing on scalable and adaptable robot intelligence for industrial automation. The company believes combining generalized AI with workflow orchestration tools will help accelerate real-world robotics adoption across logistics and fulfillment operations.
