ROBOTIS Launches Humanoid Robot and Robotics Components Factory Project in Uzbekistan

ROBOTIS has launched the construction of a new manufacturing facility in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, introducing one of the country's most ambitious high-technology industrial projects focused on humanoid robots and advanced robotic components. The facility will be developed within the Yangi Avlod Special Industrial Zone and is expected to expand regional capabilities in robotics and automation manufacturing.
ROBOTIS, one of South Korea's leading robotics developers, officially commenced the project during the Fifth Tashkent International Investment Forum, where government officials and company executives participated in a ceremonial groundbreaking. High-level attendees included Uzbekistan's Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjayev, Deputy Minister of Investments Ilzat Kasimov, and South Korean Ambassador Won Do Yeon. The project represents a major investment in advanced infrastructure, positioning Tashkent as an emerging regional hub for technology innovation.
Kim Byoung-soo, President of ROBOTIS, stated:
"The establishment of this manufacturing facility reflects our long-term commitment to expanding global robotics innovation and developing new production capabilities in strategic markets. By combining advanced robotic technologies with local industrial development initiatives, we aim to create sustainable manufacturing ecosystems and accelerate the adoption of humanoid robotics technologies."
The future plant will manufacture humanoid robots alongside key robotic components for industrial and technology applications. The facility is expected to create more than 1,000 skilled jobs, contributing to the development of a local engineering workforce specializing in robotics, automation, and advanced electronics assembly lines. The project also facilitates specialized knowledge transfer and technical training frameworks designed to permanently elevate the region's technical expertise.
A ROBOTIS spokesperson highlighted the strategic significance of the project:
"This investment marks an important step in expanding global manufacturing capacity for next-generation robotics technologies. By establishing production operations in Uzbekistan, we are creating opportunities to develop highly skilled talent, strengthen international collaboration and accelerate the commercialization of humanoid robotic systems for global markets."
Founded in 1999, ROBOTIS specializes in autonomous robotic systems, actuators, and humanoid components. Its technologies are actively utilized by global tech giants and institutions including Amazon, Microsoft, Apple, Google, Samsung, BMW, and NASA. The Tashkent facility further strengthens ROBOTIS' global manufacturing footprint across international lines.
