Nscale and Figure Sign $3.5 Billion Compute Deal for Humanoid Robots

Nscale has signed a multi-year partnership with humanoid robotics company Figure that could deploy up to 100,000 NVIDIA GPUs, with an initial $3.5 billion compute commitment to support Figure's next generation of humanoid robots. The agreement could scale beyond $6 billion, with initial NVIDIA Vera Rubin GPUs targeted for deployment in Barstow, Texas, beginning in the second half of 2027.

Under the agreement, Nscale will become Figure's preferred compute provider and a shareholder in the company, while also making a strategic investment in Figure. The companies did not disclose the dollar amount of the investment but confirmed they will explore using humanoid robots to help scale Nscale's supply chain operations.

Josh Payne, founder and CEO of Nscale, stated:

"We've seen incredible growth with inference and agentic AI, and Figure is pushing the boundaries of AI even further. We're proud to be enabling the future of AI robotics together."

Nscale will provide the power, computing platform, and orchestration layer while integrating NVIDIA AI infrastructure to support Figure's models from training through deployment. The partnership aims to accelerate the development of Figure's Helix AI model, which powers the company's humanoid robotics platform.

Brett Adcock, founder and CEO of Figure, stated:

"To bring humanoid robots to every home in the world, we are largely constrained by data and compute. Our AI model, Helix, becomes more capable the same way every learned system does: with more data and compute."

Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA, stated:

"Humanoid robots extend physical AI into the world designed for people—opening a major new industry. Nscale and Figure have activated the robotics flywheel: training Figure's models on NVIDIA Vera Rubin through Nscale's AI cloud, validating them in NVIDIA Isaac Sim, and deploying them on NVIDIA GPUs in Figure's robots. This is the physical AI flywheel that will accelerate the path from models to robots in the world."

The partnership represents one of the largest compute commitments in the humanoid robotics sector, signaling growing demand for AI infrastructure to support physical AI applications.
