NEURA Robotics & TUM Open 2,300m² RoboGym and Launch 4NE1 Gen 4 Humanoid

NEURA Robotics and the Technical University of Munich (TUM) opened the TUM RoboGym powered by NEURA on October 22, alongside the launch of NEURA's 4NE1 Gen 4 humanoid robot.
Located at LabCampus near Munich Airport, the center spans more than 2,300 square meters and combines research, robot training and industrial application. It was established with TUM's Munich Institute of Robotics and Machine Intelligence.
The partners are investing approximately €17 million in an initiative initially scheduled for three years, including around €11 million from NEURA. Companies from more than ten industries have been training workflows at the facility since September.
Applications include handling cardboard boxes, filling bottles and loading wooden components. Companies can test tasks using humanoids, MiPA mobile assistance robots and cognitive robot arms before assessing deployment in their own operations.
The RoboGym combines real-world robot data, human demonstrations and simulation. Motion capture, teleoperation and sensor-equipped suits help collect training information, while virtual environments introduce variations that can subsequently be validated on physical robots.
4NE1 Gen 4 is 20 percent lighter than its predecessor and features a slimmer body, textile outer skin and upgraded hands. Its Smart Limbs incorporate local reflexes intended to support independent responses to environmental changes.
The humanoid runs on Neuron AI, NEURA's Perception-Language-Action model, which incorporates vision, touch, force, sound and robot-state information. Through the Neuraverse, learned skills can be shared with connected robots. The company is preparing the platform for series production.
David Reger, Founder and CEO of NEURA Robotics, said: "With TUM, we are building a powerhouse for physical capabilities, where this knowledge becomes the foundation for new possibilities." Munich begins a planned international network, with additional facilities being established in Europe, the United States and China.
