Agility Robotics Expands NVIDIA Collaboration Ahead of Digit 5 Deployment

ByMohammed Thaif

Agility Robotics announced on October 22 that Digit 5 will standardize its onboard computing on NVIDIA IGX Thor, expanding its collaboration with NVIDIA ahead of broader commercial deployment.

The architecture will consolidate Digit 5's onboard compute on IGX Thor modules, making NVIDIA the exclusive onboard compute provider for the general availability version of the humanoid robot.

The transition builds on the companies' existing work with NVIDIA Halos, a safety platform for physical AI. Agility is integrating IGX Thor and additional Halos models into Digit's proprietary safe human detection system.

According to Agility, these integrations are intended to extend perception capabilities, support connections to a broader technology ecosystem and assist ongoing certification and deployment efforts. The announcement does not represent final safety certification.

Pras Velagapudi, Chief Technology Officer of Agility Robotics, said: "As we prepare Digit 5 for general availability, we are unifying its compute architecture and building on our safety collaboration with NVIDIA."

Agility will also participate in the NVIDIA Halos AI Systems Inspection Lab, where Digit's safety-related software, AI components and cybersecurity protections will undergo evaluation ahead of final certification by an independent third party.

Early access to Digit 5 is expected in the first half of 2027, with availability increasing over the following six to nine months. Target users include manufacturing, warehouse and distribution operators.

Separately, Agility said its previously announced business combination with Churchill Capital Corp XI was expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026. Following completion, the combined company is expected to trade on Nasdaq under AGLT.
