Movu Robotics CEO Outlines Growth Strategy and US Expansion Plans

ByAyshathul Mushrifa

Movu Robotics is accelerating its international expansion strategy, with a growing presence in North America and continued investment in warehouse automation technologies built around robotics, racking systems, and software solutions.

The company, which emerged from stow Group’s automation business in 2023, has rapidly expanded its footprint in the intralogistics sector. Today, Movu employs more than 450 people and delivers integrated automation solutions for warehouses and distribution centers.

Christophe Coulongeat, who became CEO of Movu Robotics in 2025, is leading the company’s next phase of growth. He was also recently appointed President of Movu US, reflecting the company's ambitions in the North American market.

“We already have many major customers in the US, we’re close to 30 projects already there and our plan is for the US to comprise 50% of our business,” said Coulongeat.

The company currently has more than 200 automation projects sold globally. Approximately half of those projects are in various stages of engineering, installation, or commissioning.

“We’re showcasing our references here at LogiMAT,” Coulongeat said.

“With more than 200 systems sold, our story is about delivering proof, rather than snappy marketing messages.”

Movu expects significant financial growth in 2026. According to Coulongeat, the business generated approximately €200 million in revenue during 2025 and is projected to exceed €300 million this year.

“Today, the stow business is about €800M revenue, Movu was €200M in 2025, and this year we will beat €300M, so that’s 50%+ growth year-on-year,” he said.

The company’s automation strategy originated from stow Group’s long-standing expertise in industrial racking systems. The transition from traditional storage systems to robotic automation was driven by increasing labor shortages, demand for scalability, and the need for more efficient warehouse space utilization.

Movu’s flagship technology includes its Atlas four-way pallet shuttle system. Unlike conventional automation systems, the solution allows robots to move in multiple directions through storage grids, increasing storage density and operational flexibility.

Coulongeat credited stow Group founder Jos de Vuyst with identifying the opportunity to combine racking infrastructure with advanced robotics.

“Jos and his team realised that if you could design a new robot, a four-way shuttle robot, which could navigate through what we might call a chessboard, level by level, optimising the space, then you would gain a lot of space,” he said.

The United States represents a key growth market for the company. Movu notes that warehouse automation projects in North America are often significantly larger than those in Europe.

“In the US projects are much bigger,” Coulongeat explained.

“An average project in Europe might be €3M-€5M whereas in US you could easily reach €10M, €20M, €30M.”

The company serves industries including fast-moving consumer goods, food and beverage, cold chain logistics, third-party logistics, and temperature-controlled warehousing. Its robotic systems can operate in environments as cold as -25°C.

Movu also highlights its experience in four-way pallet shuttle deployments, claiming more than 200 systems installed worldwide.

“First mover advantage is important. We have deployed over 200 four-way pallet shuttle systems to the market, that’s the most in the world,” said Coulongeat.

Manufacturing expansion remains another strategic priority. Alongside nine European factories supporting racking production, the group is preparing to open its first U.S. manufacturing facility near Atlanta.

The company continues to invest heavily in software capabilities, including warehouse control systems, traffic management, analytics, and performance optimization tools designed to improve flexibility in increasingly dynamic warehouse environments.

As demand for automation continues to grow globally, Movu Robotics aims to strengthen its position as a provider of integrated robotics and warehouse automation solutions across Europe and North America.
