LG Electronics Unveils Next Evolution of AI Home with ThinQ Claw at IFA 2026

ByAyshathul Mushrifa

LG Electronics is unveiling the next evolution of its AI Home at IFA 2026, introducing ThinQ Claw, a new text-chat-based AI agent that leverages contextual intelligence to provide personalized, situationally-appropriate support across connected devices and services.

The upgraded AI Home ecosystem analyzes schedules, routines, home environments, and appliance usage to recommend relevant actions and coordinate devices intelligently. ThinQ Claw extends this capability through natural chat interactions, understanding user intent and remembering preferences to deliver increasingly personalized experiences over time.

At IFA 2026, LG is demonstrating ThinQ Claw across immersive AI Home spaces in three zones. In the AI Home Kitchen Zone, visitors can experience how the agent uses grocery purchase information to recommend dishes and recipes based on available ingredients. In the Living Zone, ThinQ Claw understands life context and preferences to recommend and execute personalized routines, such as adjusting indoor temperature and operating robot vacuums.

Baek Seung-tae, president of the LG Home Appliance Solution Company, stated:

"ThinQ Claw marks the next step in LG AI Home, illustrating how AI can understand customer intent and life context to support a more personalized and streamlined daily experience. LG will continue advancing AI Home through innovations that are increasingly intuitive and responsive to customers' needs."

The AI Home Zone also highlights LG's open ecosystem powered by Homey, the smart home platform developed by Athom and acquired by LG in 2024. With broad interoperability across brands, Homey enables seamless device management and integrates with LG's Home Energy Management System (HEMS) to optimize energy generation, storage, and consumption.

IFA 2026 marks the European debut of LG ThinQ Pro, designed for multi-family residential and commercial environments, extending LG's AI Home vision into shared and professional spaces. LG Shield security framework protects connected appliances, services, and customer data across the ecosystem.

Visitors to IFA can experience these innovations firsthand at LG's AI Home Zone throughout the event, scheduled for August 30, 2026.
