John Deere Unveils Sprayer Upgrades with New See & Spray Features

ByAyshathul Mushrifa

John Deere has introduced a range of upgrades for its 2027 model-year sprayers, expanding See & Spray capabilities, adding new crop models, and introducing four-wheel steering technology to improve precision and efficiency in field operations.

The updates are designed to provide growers with greater flexibility and crop compatibility while enhancing the performance of targeted spraying systems across multiple equipment platforms.

Josh Ladd, Marketing Manager for Application Products at John Deere, highlighted the company’s latest advancement, See & Spray Gen 2, which represents the next generation of targeted spraying technology.

The upgraded system introduces new features including variable-rate application and an optional lighting package that enables approved nighttime spraying in fallow fields.

John Deere is also expanding the technology’s crop compatibility with seven new crop models. The additions include wheat, canola, barley, peanuts, sugar beets, milo, and edible beans, allowing more growers to take advantage of precision spraying capabilities.

Current See & Spray users will also benefit from the enhancements. Four of the newly introduced crop models will be available through software updates for existing Gen 1 systems installed on model-year 2018 through 2026 machines equipped with See & Spray Ultimate, factory-installed See & Spray Premium, or Precision Upgrade kits.

Another major addition for the 2027 lineup is the introduction of four-wheel steering on the company’s 400 Series sprayers.

The feature will be available on the John Deere 400R, John Deere 408R, John Deere 410R, and John Deere 412R models, providing operators with improved maneuverability, reduced crop damage, and enhanced field performance.

The company also announced several enhancements for its Hagie sprayer lineup.

See & Spray Premium will now be offered as a factory-installed option on the Hagie STS12, joining the existing Hagie STS16 and Hagie STS20 models. The expansion gives growers additional opportunities to deploy targeted spraying technology across different machine sizes and applications.

In addition, Hagie customers will gain access to optional boom tip shields beginning with the 2027 model year. The shields are designed to protect sprayer booms from impacts with obstacles such as fence posts, tree branches, and other field hazards.

With the latest upgrades, John Deere continues to advance precision agriculture technologies by improving spraying accuracy, expanding crop support, and enhancing machine productivity for modern farming operations.
