Daeduck Electronics to Deploy AeiROBOT Humanoid Robots at PCB Manufacturing Plant

Daeduck Electronics is initiating a proof-of-concept (PoC) deployment using humanoid robots in its printed circuit board (PCB) production process, testing whether flexible automation can handle high-mix manufacturing environments where dedicated equipment remains difficult to implement.
According to industry reports, the South Korean electronics manufacturer will introduce AeiROBOT's mobile humanoid platform, the ALICE M1, at its factory facilities, deploying two units in phases with the initial demonstration targeted for completion by late 2026.
Designed for industrial operations, the ALICE M1 combines seven-axis articulated robotic arms for human-like manipulation with a wheeled autonomous mobile base and an adjustable waist structure that modifies its operating height between 1.3 meters and 1.7 meters.
Throughout the PoC demonstration phase, the humanoid units will perform repetitive manual duties, including picking up, transporting, and organizing individual PCBs while Daeduck Electronics collects key operational metrics such as task success rates, navigation paths, and cycle times over a six-month evaluation period.
The automation initiative addresses specific challenges inherent to PCB manufacturing, where varying board dimensions, thicknesses, and layer configurations make traditional fixed machinery financially and operationally impractical for high-mix, low-volume production lines.
By integrating computer vision and artificial intelligence, humanoid platforms learn to identify distinct PCB types and determine safe handling routines, representing the first recorded deployment of humanoid robots within South Korea's domestic PCB manufacturing ecosystem.
Industry projections indicate that humanoid adoption in manufacturing will accelerate from 2027, with global shipments exceeding 115,000 units annually, while South Korea's domestic humanoid robotics market is forecast to expand from $113 million in 2025 to $584 million by 2030 at a 39.1% compound annual growth rate.
AeiROBOT is currently running industrial pilots across multiple sectors, including shipbuilding, and plans to supply approximately 20 units this year to gather field data ahead of full commercial rollout in 2027.
