Celona Launches Orion Agentic Wireless Platform for Physical AI and Robotics

Celona has announced Celona Orion, a unified agentic wireless platform designed to combine private 5G, Wi-Fi, public cellular and satellite connectivity into a single network fabric.

The platform is designed for physical AI applications, including autonomous vehicles, autonomous mobile robots, computer vision systems and edge software agents.

Celona said Orion represents a shift from traditional device-focused networks toward intelligent, multi-network infrastructure for automated enterprise operations.

The platform allows companies to manage private 5G and Wi-Fi 7 access points through a single subscription model.

Celona is also offering an open-source agent for robotics manufacturers, enabling robots and autonomous vehicles to select the most suitable network based on their connectivity requirements.

For example, an autonomous mining vehicle could use private 5G during operations and switch to Wi-Fi when entering a garage for high-speed data transfers and software updates.

Orion also introduces an agentic operations platform designed to manage converged wireless networks across factories, warehouses and other industrial environments.

Customers can deploy Celona private 5G and Wi-Fi access points with overlapping coverage areas, allowing the entire network to be managed through Orion Orchestrator.

The platform’s key robotics innovation is the convergence of control-plane and data-plane operations, allowing robots to move between private 5G and Wi-Fi without losing their network identity.

Celona said robots can use a single SIM identity to authenticate across both networks while maintaining connectivity during transitions.

The company aims to address limitations associated with using individual wireless technologies for different robotic workloads.

Wi-Fi can face challenges with mobile robots, while private 5G may not always provide sufficient capacity for large data transfers.

Security is integrated into Orion through SIM-based identity, operational-technology micro-segmentation and IT/OT separation.

Celona said the platform uses its own software stack and a single trusted supply chain to provide security and centralized network management.

Orion is also designed as an ecosystem platform and can work with other vendors’ Wi-Fi and private 5G networks.

Celona CEO Rajeev Shah said enterprises have traditionally managed wireless technologies as separate networks, but physical AI requires them to operate as a unified system.

The company believes Orion could make wireless connectivity a critical infrastructure layer for factories, warehouses and other automated enterprise environments.
