ABM and LaGuardia Gateway Partners Launch Autonomous Robotics Pilot at Terminal B

ABM Industries has launched an autonomous robotics pilot at LaGuardia Airport's Terminal B in partnership with facility operator LaGuardia Gateway Partners, introducing advanced robotic platforms designed to transform daily airport operations.
The strategic deployment includes autonomous floor scrubbers, dual-function autonomous vacuums, and one of the first quadruped robotic inspection dogs operating inside a major U.S. airport terminal facility.
The initiative aims to elevate passenger safety, efficiency, and cleanliness while supporting ABM's facility management teams across high-traffic terminal zones.
The robotic quadruped dog, developed in partnership with general-purpose robotics startup Skild.ai, assists personnel with facility inspection duties while maintaining a welcoming airport environment.
Complementing the inspection quadruped, ABM introduced autonomous floor scrubbers and dual-function vacuums from CenoBots, featuring 3D LiDAR navigation, intelligent mapping, six-hour autonomous runtimes, and self-charging capabilities.
Sean Bromfield, President of Aviation at ABM, stated:
"Airports are among the most dynamic environments in the world, and Terminal B is the perfect stage to demonstrate how robotics, AI, and data integration can transform facility operations. This pilot underscores ABM's leadership in anticipating our clients' evolving needs and investing in real, ROI-driven innovation. Robotics and AI are not about replacing people but empowering them—freeing our teams to focus on the work that most directly impacts travelers and strengthens the guest experience."
Suzette Noble, Chief Executive Officer of LaGuardia Gateway Partners, stated:
"LaGuardia Terminal B has become a global benchmark for excellence in guest experience, and this robotics pilot takes our innovation commitment to the next level. We are proud to partner with ABM to test emerging technologies that align with our vision for a smarter, safer, and more seamless airport journey."
The pilot builds on Terminal B's Skytrax 5-Star rating, leveraging ABM Connect for Aviation to integrate real-time sensor data, IoT connectivity, and autonomous automation.
