XPENG Convenes Supply Chain Partners as Humanoid Robot Production Line Enters Operation

ByMohammed Thaif

XPENG held its first Robotics Supply Chain Partner Conference on September 22, attended by leading supply chain companies in core component fields including robot joint modules, actuators and precision structural parts.

The company's robotics business has signed designation agreements with supply chain partners and is currently scheduling production on its manufacturing lines.

As a key part of XPENG's Physical AI strategy, its robots are positioned as advanced humanoid robots that are ultra-humanlike, AI-driven and built to high safety standards. At the conference, XPENG showcased IRON's latest capabilities in autonomous orientation and following, seamless multilingual switching, dynamic multi-dimensional identity memory and versatile intelligent question-answering, demonstrating progression from autonomous movement to natural interaction.

Supply chain attendees noted that humanoid robotics remains at an early stage of industrialization, but cited XPENG's clear technology roadmap, product definition and well-defined mass-production timeline as reasons for confidence that the company will reach scaled mass production. One industry guest stated that humanoid robots entering large-scale commercial application require supply chains to deliver not only stable performance but also consistency, cost and delivery at scale.

He Xiaopeng, Chairman and CEO of XPENG, stated:

"We are not building remote-controlled robots, nor robots that require software programming. What we ultimately want to build is a truly advanced general-purpose humanoid robot that can adapt to a wide range of scenarios."

Mr. He added that robotics requires an entirely new and complete technology system designed for the physical world, and that XPENG hopes to invest in the long term together with its supply chain partners to drive large-scale deployment of robots.

XPENG's robot production line has officially come into operation. From automated production line commissioning to robots walking off the line, the company is progressively connecting the full mass-production chain from core components to complete machines.

XPENG robots are scheduled to enter mass production by the end of this year, with initial commercial-scenario rollouts beginning in XPENG's own stores and campuses. Official market launch and delivery in China and overseas markets are planned for 2027.
