UBTECH has announced that its newly launched U1 humanoid companion robot has received nearly 4,000 pre-orders within just ten days of opening reservations, generating more than 10 million yuan (approximately USD 1.4 million) in deposits.

The Shenzhen-based robotics company introduced the U1 as a full-size bipedal humanoid robot designed specifically for home companionship and personal interaction. The strong initial demand represents one of the most notable early commercial responses for a consumer-focused humanoid robot and signals increasing interest in AI-powered personal robotics beyond industrial and enterprise applications.

The U1 incorporates an emotional AI model that enables natural conversations and adaptive interactions with users. The robot also features locally encrypted memory storage designed to support personalized experiences while maintaining user control over sensitive data. UBTECH additionally offers extensive appearance customization options, allowing customers to personalize the robot according to individual preferences.
