UBTech Launches AI-Powered Lifelike UWORLD U1 Humanoid Robots

Chinese robotics firm UBTech has unveiled a new line of ultra-realistic humanoid robots designed specifically for companionship and emotional support. Powered by an advanced artificial intelligence system capable of recognizing and responding to a wide range of human emotional states, the launch has sparked widespread discussion on Chinese social media regarding the potential rise of AI-powered "cyber boyfriends" and "cyber girlfriends."
The newly introduced U1 product line is available in both male and female versions. Pricing ranges from basic robotic torsos entering the market at 119,800 yuan up to full-sized premium humanoid companion models priced at 990,000 yuan ($145,835). These high-end configurations feature highly realistic aesthetic details, including visible skin pores, blood vessels, and individual fingerprints.
According to an official statement from UBTech, the robots are equipped with a specialized emotional large language model engineered for long-term human companionship. The system can successfully identify more than 20 distinct human emotions with an independently verified accuracy rate exceeding 90%. To elevate standard human-robot interaction, the humanoids feature highly expressive faces paired with lifelike digital skin.
UBTech announced it has already secured 13,361 orders for the U1 series and intends to complete all customer deliveries within the year. The company expects China's domestic market for ultra-realistic humanoid robots to expand dramatically over the next decade. Tan Min, UBTech's chief branding officer, projected that the underlying industry will scale up from tens of billions of yuan to trillions of yuan between 2026 and 2036.
