ByAyshathul Mushrifa

KUKA has launched the LBR iisy on iiQKA.OS2, a new generation of industrial performance cobots designed to help manufacturers enter automation while providing a scalable path for future expansion.

The Germany-based robotics leader is strengthening its collaborative automation portfolio with a platform that combines industrial-grade performance, intuitive operation, and seamless integration across different production environments. The solution enables companies to begin with individual automation tasks and expand through the wider KUKA ecosystem.

Sandra Hirsch, Global Content Marketing Manager at KUKA, stated:

"The LBR iisy on iiQKA.OS2 represents the next step in scalable automation. By combining industrial performance with intuitive operation, we enable customers to solve today's automation challenges while creating a foundation for future growth across applications."

The LBR iisy is engineered with proven KUKA mechanics and industrial-grade components for continuous operation in demanding production environments. Integrated sensors, smooth hand-guiding, and modern user interfaces simplify operation. The platform supports a wide range of applications including material handling, palletizing, and production-focused tasks. iiQKA.OS2 provides access to simulation and virtual commissioning with iiQWorks.Sim, along with proven KUKA technology packages.

A KUKA spokesperson stated:

"The LBR iisy on iiQKA.OS2 is more than a standalone cobot. It provides manufacturers with access to a complete automation ecosystem, including robots, software, engineering expertise, and global service capabilities built on a common technological foundation. This gives manufacturers the freedom to start with the automation challenge they face today and expand their automation journey tomorrow without changing platforms."

KUKA plans to expand adoption of the LBR iisy platform across collaborative and industrial applications as manufacturers seek flexible automation solutions. The company's unified software approach allows customers to scale operations without changing platforms, supporting future upgrades, advanced simulation capabilities, and broader integration across automated production environments.
