Flexiv Launches New Adaptive Robots for Industrial Automation

ByAyshathul Mushrifa

Flexiv has officially launched two next-generation adaptive robotic platforms, Enlight and Mico, significantly expanding its global portfolio of AI-powered industrial automation solutions designed to improve operational flexibility, precision, and safety across advanced manufacturing environments.

Introduced as part of the company's latest physical AI and embodied intelligence roadmap, these advanced systems combine precise force control and computer vision to seamlessly automate complex tasks traditionally restricted to manual human assembly lines.

The flagship Enlight model is a high-performance seven-axis adaptive robotic arm equipped with multi-dimensional force-torque sensors integrated into every joint, providing full whole-body tactile sensing capabilities for industrial deployment.

This specialized hardware framework allows the robotic arm to seamlessly detect delicate touch, track multiple contact points, and accurately interpret intricate tactile patterns while working safely alongside human operators in dynamic settings.

Built with a lightweight 15-kilogram mechanical design and four specialized joints capable of 720-degree rotation, Enlight delivers an expansive working envelope while maintaining a remarkably compact footprint for highly confined factory spaces.

Shuyun Chung, Chief Robotics Scientist at Flexiv, stated:

"The introduction of Enlight and Mico marks a defining moment not just for Flexiv, but for the automation industry, bringing a level of human-like adaptability and tactile feedback never before available to industrial users."

Built on an identical adaptive architecture, Mico operates as a modular dual-arm system enabling synchronized manipulation available in Armor, Core, Plus, and Ultra configurations to scale edge deployments utilizing NVIDIA Isaac Sim simulation.
