BYD Teases Debut of First Proprietary Humanoid Robot

BYD has announced plans to unveil its first humanoid robot in early August, marking a major milestone in the electric vehicle manufacturer's expansion into robotics and intelligent automation technologies.

The Chinese technology company released a teaser poster indicating the upcoming public debut of its humanoid robot, following previous strategic statements from senior company executives regarding its long-term robotics ambitions.

BYD Executive Vice President Li Ke previously highlighted the company's interest in deploying humanoid robots across its dealership network, where they could support vehicle demonstrations, introduce products, and enhance customer service.

According to Li, humanoid robots designed for home and service industry applications could become an important future growth market for BYD as commercial adoption expands across global markets.

Li Ke, Executive Vice President of BYD, stated:

"My goal is to place two or three robots in every dealership. They can explain our vehicles to customers, create a more engaging atmosphere, and even demonstrate vehicle features."

According to Li, robotic sales assistants could become commercially viable within the next one to two years.

The planned humanoid robot launch follows BYD's broader investments in robotics research and active talent recruitment as automotive companies increasingly explore embodied artificial intelligence technologies.

BYD's entry into humanoid robotics reflects a growing trend among leading electric vehicle manufacturers developing intelligent machines capable of executing customer-facing and operational tasks inside commercial environments.
