Brightpick Expands Robotics Partnership with Dr. Max Group Across Europe

Brightpick, a provider of AI-powered warehouse automation, is expanding its partnership with Dr. Max Group, Europe's largest pharmacy chain, by deploying an additional 44 Autopicker autonomous mobile robots across distribution facilities in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
The deployment follows operational success at Dr. Max's Prague facility, managed by sister company Viapharma, where an initial 2023 rollout of nine Autopicker robots expanded to 30 units.
The Prague warehouse processes up to 20,000 items daily with minimal human intervention, achieving a 95% reduction in manual picking labor, a 40% capacity increase, and the practical elimination of picking errors.
Two additional projects will complete in the second half of 2026: Viapharma Ostrava will deploy 22 robots for hospital and pharmacy replenishment, while Dr. Max Bratislava will add 22 robots to manage e-commerce orders.
Jan Zizka, Co-founder and CEO of Brightpick, stated:
"Expanding our partnership with Dr. Max Group across three major distribution centers is a tremendous validation for us of the reliability and added value of our technology. Pharmaceutical logistics demands uncompromising accuracy, speed, and strict adherence to standards. Our solution can effectively handle high-volume replenishment for hospitals and pharmacies as well as a dynamic e-commerce environment with high demands on dispatch speed."
Equipped with patented Physical AI and 3D vision, the Autopicker autonomous mobile manipulator picks and consolidates orders directly in warehouse aisles without requiring structural facility changes.
Rudolf Zurek, Logistics Director at Viapharma, stated:
"Deploying Brightpick technology enabled us to fundamentally increase picking accuracy and optimize warehouse processes. As a result, we were able to move human workers from physically demanding picking to more skilled activities, particularly quality control. The system's scalability and the smooth capacity expansion in Prague were key reasons why we decided to implement Autopicker robots in our other key hubs as well."
Upon completion, Dr. Max Group will operate a total fleet of 74 Brightpick Autopicker units across its central European fulfillment hubs.
