Boston Dynamics Appoints Rohit Prasad as CEO to Accelerate Physical AI Growth

Boston Dynamics has announced the appointment of Rohit Prasad as Chief Executive Officer, effective October 7, 2026. The appointment positions the enterprise to accelerate the integration of artificial intelligence and robotics while expanding real-world Physical AI applications across global industries.
Prasad brings decades of proven technical experience turning breakthrough AI technologies into category-defining products. Prior to joining Boston Dynamics, he served as Senior Vice President and Head Scientist for Alexa and Artificial General Intelligence at Amazon, where he was instrumental in building Alexa into a pioneering consumer service. More recently, he led the core development of the Amazon Nova foundation model family for enterprise deployments.
Before his twelve-year tenure at Amazon, Prasad spent nearly 14 years at Raytheon BBN Technologies, leading machine-learning research and its real-world application for government and commercial customers. Based in the Boston area for over 25 years, he maintains deep technical ties to the region's top robotics ecosystem.

Boston Dynamics develops AI-enabled mobile robots for industrial and safety applications. Its commercial portfolio includes Spot, a quadruped for industrial facility inspections; Stretch, a box-moving robot for logistics; and Atlas, an electric humanoid platform currently in development. Subject to approval, Prasad is also expected to join the company's Board of Directors.
