Antioch Raises $32 Million to Move Robot Testing into Cloud Simulation

Antioch Inc., a simulation software startup, has announced $32 million in new Series A funding to advance product development, expand its engineering team, and deepen simulation capabilities for robotics, autonomy, and perception teams.

The company's platform addresses a critical bottleneck in autonomous machine testing: every change to a robot, drone, or industrial machine must currently be proven on physical equipment at significant cost in hardware and engineer hours. Antioch's software calibrates a simulation to a customer's own hardware and runs it on cloud infrastructure.

A team that could afford one physical experiment can now run thousands of simulated evaluations in parallel, dramatically accelerating development cycles and reducing hardware costs.

Harry Mellsop, Co-founder of Antioch, stated:

Jason Mitura, Vice President of Software Development at Amazon and Chief Product Officer at Ring, stated:

"Antioch is changing how we develop and validate complex systems by enabling us to rely on simulation with a level of confidence that wasn't previously possible. Antioch's simulations have closely matched our physical test results, including in scenarios we deliberately held out of calibration."

Founded in May 2025 by Mellsop, who previously worked on Autopilot software at Tesla, along with four other co-founders from Google DeepMind, Meta's Reality Labs, and Transpose Inc., the startup is approximately 16 months old.

Nvidia is a key partner, with Antioch integrating the chipmaker's open physical AI stack, including Omniverse libraries and the Isaac Sim and Isaac Lab robotics frameworks, to help developers spread testing across thousands of simulated scenarios. Nebius Group supplies cloud infrastructure.

Greylock Partners led the Series A round, with participation from A* Capital, Category Ventures, BoxGroup Ventures, and Icehouse Ventures. Individual backers include Palantir CTO Shyam Sankar and Nvidia executive Ian Andrews.

Saam Motamedi, General Partner at Greylock, stated:

With a previous $4.25 million pre-seed in December and $8.5 million in April, total funding now stands at $44.75 million.
