ABB Introduces Robot Diagnosis Dashboard in OptiFact™ Platform

ByMedia Relations

OptiFact™ has introduced a new Robot Diagnosis dashboard to help manufacturers better understand the real operating condition of their industrial robots and improve maintenance decisions across modern production environments.

OptiFact™, part of the digital factory solutions portfolio from ABB, expands its analytics capabilities with Robot Diagnosis—a dedicated dashboard that transforms raw robot motion data into clear, actionable insights for operators, engineers, and service teams.

The new dashboard addresses a common challenge in industrial automation: large volumes of robot data are generated every day, but much of it remains underused. Robot Diagnosis converts this data into practical information that supports faster and more confident operational decisions.

Robot Diagnosis collects motion-related data directly from robot motors and gearboxes and processes it using ABB-developed diagnostic algorithms to reveal internal behavior and mechanical performance trends.

The system generates a health score from 0 to 10 for each robot. This single score summarizes mechanical behavior, load patterns, and motion characteristics, allowing users to understand the robot’s current condition at a glance.

Lower scores indicate normal robot operation, while higher scores highlight deviations that may signal developing mechanical issues where proactive maintenance can improve reliability and performance.

For production and maintenance teams, Robot Diagnosis enables earlier awareness of performance changes. Instead of waiting for visible faults or unexpected downtime, teams can monitor developing trends inside the robot systems.

The dashboard also helps teams prepare before contacting support. By understanding the general nature of a potential issue in advance, communication becomes clearer and follow-up actions become more precise.

Service and engineering teams benefit from structured diagnostic data that reveals motion behavior trends from the start. This reduces manual inspection, shortens analysis time, and supports more accurate maintenance recommendations.

Robot Diagnosis works alongside other OptiFact dashboards, such as event logs and cycle time analysis, to help identify root causes of production errors and understand performance deviations across automated lines.

Robot Diagnosis is available to existing OptiFact users within their current license. New users can explore the complete OptiFact platform and its digital factory capabilities through ABB’s official product channels.
